Passions

Our February show at the Artists' Gallery is called Passions, and runs from February 9 - March 4, 2007. Opening reception is Feb 10 from 6pm - 9pm.

This is a group show with all of the gallery artists, and we're doing something a little bit different this time: the artists have created a number of 'art cards' - postcard size pieces of original art, which will be awarded in drawings during the opening reception. So if you're planning on seeing this show, be sure to come to the opening on Feb 10!

The Coryell Gallery Award

Gallery member J. Stacy Rogers is this year's winner of "The Coryell Gallery Award" at the 27th annual juried art exhibition "Lambertville and the Surrounding Area". This is one of the most prestigious shows in the region and is run by the Coryell Gallery in conjunction with the Lambertville Historical Society. Besides painting scenes of Lambertville, Stacy's main focus is on doing commissioned portraits - you can find out more about this on his website www.jstacyrogers.com.

Artists' Gallery member Joe Kazimierczyk also has a painting in this show.

Opening reception is Sunday, Feb 4 from 3 to 6 pm. The exhibition continues through March 18th. Gallery hours are Wednesday through Sunday, 12 noon - 5 pm. The show is at:

The Coryell Gallery at the Porkyard
8 Coryell Street
Lambertville, NJ 08530
[map and directions]

(The Coryell Gallery is just a block away from The Artists' Gallery so you can easily visit both galleries if you come on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday)

Artsbridge Board of Trustees

Gallery member Joe Kazimierczyk has joined the Board of Trustees at Artsbridge, the largest arts organization in the Lambertville / New Hope area. Artsbridge is dedicated to promoting the art and the artists of this unique region. Among other things, Joe will lend his computer skills to help run the organization's website.

New member: Beatrice Bork

The Artists' Gallery welcomes our newest member, Beatrice Bork.

Beatrice does beautiful watercolors, frequently featuring birds, sometimes cows and other creatures worthy of having their portraits painted by such a talented artist. She is a member of the prestigious international organization, the Society of Animal Artists, and will begin showing her work at the gallery beginning in February. Bea will have a 2-person show at the gallery with Marc Reed in May - you'll be hearing more about that pretty soon.

The image shown here, called "Intent", was juried into the Society of Animal Artists' show "Art and the Animal". The painting and exhibit is currently on a national tour with some of the best international animal artists. Next stop is at The Wildlife Experience in Parker, Colorado, opening Feb 9.

You can see more of Beatrice's work, and read more about the "Art and the Animal" tour on her website: www.beatricebork.artspan.com
