Watercolorist Gail Bracegirdle and oil painter Joe Kazimierczyk team up for their first show together this July at Artists' Gallery in Lambertville, NJ.
Generally known for his plein air landscape paintings, Joe Kazimierczyk is showing a new body of work, a series of skyscapes and cloudscapes done from memory and imagination. "Skies can change so quickly and so dramatically, that even when painting on location I find myself painting what I remember the sky looking like 10 or 20 minutes ago" says Kazimierczyk. "For this show I took that one step further, and created a series of skyscapes done entirely from memory and imagination."
Gail Bracegirdle's continuing explorations of watercolors and techniques brings us a series of paintings on crinkled paper. "I'm intrigued by the sense of mystery and the added challenge of working on this wet and very textured surface. I find it fascinating to begin with a subject in mind, then having that idea abstracted by the lines and patterns in the paper."
Together, Bracegirdle and Kazimierczyk present a colorful and imaginative show at Artists' Gallery this July.
