"Oil & Water"
featuring Charles David Viera and Eric Rhinehart
August 7 - September 1, 2014
Opening Reception: Saturday, August 9, 5-8pm
The relationship between "oil and water" captures the subtle creative tension
that artists Charles David Viera and Eric Rhinehart bring to their subjects, so
it is a fitting name for their dual show at the Artists Gallery
The aptly named "Oil and Water" exhibition will run from August 7 to September
1 and will feature works in oil ,acrylic and watercolor paints as well as a
number of pastels . This is the second time the artists have teamed up for a
show.
Charles David Viera
"Gate to Lambertville"

In this show, Viera will present works primarily in oil and oil pastels. He
brings a unique perspective to his colorful images of landscape and nature that
are at once common and complex. "I like to think about the action, the tension,
that is behind each image," explains Viera. "The viewer is left to wonder what
will happen after the captured moment."
Eric Rhinehart
"School Girls in Park
watercolor
"Moments" play a central role in Eric Rhinehart's work also. In some works,
time seems to be on pause -- movement halted for a fraction of time --
compelling the viewer to step into the action. "Some of my pieces are more
voyeuristic. You feel like you are looking into someone else's life -- someone
else's personal reality -- as they enjoy a meal, a swim or simply get on with
the work of their lives."
Join the artists at their opening reception Saturday August 9 from 4 to 8 pm.
