The much advertised NBC mini -series ”The Slap” which will start airing on Thursday nights this week will bring Charles David Vieras’ art to a national audience, well sort of.
Says Viera “A representative of “the Slap” contacted me as they wanted to use some of my images on the set . It seems that they have an artist in this series and they would like to use my work to add authenticity to those scenes. They selected several images and added that their production people may have to “touch them up bit” which was fine with me. As an artist for over 40 years you struggle to try to get your art some kind of national exposure and often those efforts are not rewarded , and some times opportunities just fall into your lap as was the case here. Out of all of the artists that are on the web they found my website and felt that my paintings were right for the series. I’ve read the novel ,which is real very good ,and the artist mentioned seems to have a style similar to my own but he’s not the most likable character.”
The artwork chosen by these series is on display on his website at charlesdavidviera.com and at Artists’ Gallery in Lambertville,NJ.
Viera will be watching all eight episodes of the series to see where his paintings will appear adding “Sometimes even a blind squirrel finds a nut!”
