"Naturally", a revealing exhibit of watercolors and acrylics of an innate, unadorned and unadulterated seeing of the natural world by Bork and Oughton, will feature art of human eyes opened to a world in which we all live.
Beatrice Bork is a member of the Society of Animal Artists (SAA), an association of international artists, devoted to promoting excellence in the portrayal of the creatures sharing our planet. Her honors include: Don Eckelberry Award for bird art, solo shows such as Birds and Deviations at the Brodsky Gallery—ETS, For the birds… Princeton University, and group exhibits and tours including Art and the Animal at various museums throughout the U.S., 20th International Exhibition on Animals in Art at Louisiana State University, as well as representation in public and private collections, and publications such as Wildlife Art magazine.
There is no verbal statement that could possibly convey just how much inspiration the natural world brings me. Each subject and condition in itself is unique. My passion is fulfilled through creating art, which is an interpretation of my deep gratitude for the earth we all share. —Beatrice Bork
Taylor Oughton is an award-winning painter and illustrator. After studying at the Philadelphia Museum School of Art (now University of the Arts), Oughton worked as an illustrator, for more than forty years, for newspapers, magazines and books. His work has been featured in publications including: Reader’s Digest, Field and Stream, Holiday, Sports Afield, Outdoor Life, Cosmopolitan and the Saturday Evening Post. His nature designs can also be found in the Boy Scouts of America handbook.
Oughton’s work is included in many private, corporate and museum collections, including the James A. Michener Art Museum in Doylestown, PA. He has received awards from the Philadelphia and New Jersey Art Directors’ Clubs, the Delaware Valley Artists’ Guild, the New York Society of Illustrators, and received the Albert W. Lofgren and Violet Oakley awards in painting from the Woodmere Museum.
