Gallery Newsletter

Artists' Gallery has started a newsletter to announce our monthly shows and other big news.  If you already follow this blog, or follow us on Facebook, then you may not be interested in the newsletter.   But if you don't mind an occasional email from us, or if you find email a better way to keep track of us, then our newsletter may be just the thing for you.   You can sign up for it on our website here and you can easily unsubscribe any time you wish.

Our newsletter will only feature the 'big' gallery news like announcing our monthly shows and any other special events.  We'll typically send out one per month, maybe two if we have something special to share with you.

While this blog also announces our monthly shows, it also includes news from our individual artists.

This was our first newsletter in case you missed it -  click the image to see the full text:

Once again, you can sign up for it  here.

New Jersey Blues - John Treichler and Richard Harrington

"New Jersey Blues"
John Treichler and Richard Harrington

September 10 - October 3, 2010
Opening reception: Saturday, Sept 11, 5:00 - 9:00 pm
at Artists' Gallery in Lambertville, NJ

You could call it a road show, but artist Rich Harrington and photographer John Treichler have titled it “New Jersey Blues.” It’s their joint exhibit honoring the view from New Jersey’s many byways and highways.

As you’d expect, there are urban street scenes and picturesque farmsteads. There are also cowboys and Indians, buffalo and wolves. Take a few months to explore New Jersey as Harrington and Treichler have, and there’s no telling what you’ll see.

Opening reception: Saturday, Sept 11, 5:00 - 9:00 pm

Andrew Werth receives 2 awards

Artists’ Gallery artist Andrew Werth received two awards recently for his colorful, mark-filled abstract paintings. In “Face Value”, a portrait show of artists from TAWA (the Trenton Artists Workshop Association) that is up through September 5 at the Trenton City Museum @ Ellarslie, Andrew’s “The Self” received a Best in Show award. That painting includes a nested double portrait of the artist that references themes of duality and containment.

At Muse Gallery’s summer juried exhibition in Philadelphia (up through August 29), Andrew’s painting “The Reality Problem” received a second place prize from the juror. This piece contains a perspective composition of “impossible triangles” and is about how our minds somehow manage to create a model that provides us with a usable representation of the real world.

Interactions

"Interactions"
a 2-person show featuring
Carol Sanzalone and Alla Podolsky
at Artists' Gallery in Lambertville, NJ
July 9 - August 1, 2010
Opening reception: Saturday, July 10, 4 to 7 pm

Four diverse figures meet on a wide expanse of blue, juxtaposed and overlapping, yet appearing not to notice each other… Bulbous yellow blooms explode over a field of deep greens and quiet teals…

Interactions. Unexpected, enchanting, compelling interactions. It’s a fundamental feature of the work of artists Alla Podolsky and Carol Sanzalone, and the title of their joint show at Artists Gallery in Lambertville, New Jersey.

"Interactions” opens Saturday, July 10, with a reception that day from 4 to 7 pm at the Gallery. The show runs through Sunday, August 1 with a closing reception that afternoon from 2 to 5 pm.

“Whether you are inclined to be captivated by the human narrative depicted in a work, or more likely to be drawn in by the drama inherent in the play of light and shade or texture and color, ‘Interactions’ will speak to you,” said Gallery spokesperson Laurie Nicholson. “It’s thoughtful, it’s joyful, it’s work that engages in numerous ways.”
