One of the biggest events in Lambertville is the annual Shad Fest - a 2 day extravaganza of arts and crafts, great food, live music, walking tours of historic Lambertville, carriage rides and all around good clean fun - all of this in celebration of the annual shad run on the Delaware River. The Lewis family of Lambertville runs a fishery which dates to 1888, and holds the only remaining commercial license to catch shad with nets.

One of the big attractions of Shad Fest is the poster contest, where local artists design posters of original artwork to be auctioned off for a charity. This year's auction is on Sunday, April 29 at 3pm at the First Presbyterian Church. Proceeds will go to a scholarship fund for the South Hunterdon Regional and New Hope-Solebury High School students pursuing a collegiate career in the arts.

The First Presbyterian Church is at 31 N. Union Street, just around the corner from our Artists' Gallery, so don't forget to visit us! Shad Fest runs April 28 & 29, 2007. Admission is free.
