Beatrice Bork has donated "Jacobin," for a fund-raiser Sat., May 22, "Arts & Music 4 Haiti", a concert and art auction, at Rago Arts and Auction Center in Lambertville, NJ. (7:30 to midnight) to benefit The Clinton Bush Haiti Fund. Bork has a fondness for the Caribbean islands, and is happy to participate in this very good cause.

For the third year in a row, the Kalmia Club has had "Artists in the Gardens" during their annual "Hidden Gardens" tour, where artists from our gallery settled into the gardens to paint for the tour day.

On the weekend of Oct 17-19, these beautiful works of art are being offered for sale to help support the Club's community efforts. You can see the artworks anytime this weekend during normal gallery hours, 11am - 6pm. Or better yet, attend the Gala Reception on Saturday, Oct 17 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm.

The Kalmia Club, headquartered at 39 York Street, Lambertville, is one of the oldest continuously running women's club in the state of New Jersey. A member of the New Jersey State Federation of Women's Clubs, the largest volunteer women's service organization in the state and a member of the General Federation of Women's Clubs, it provides opportunities for education, leadership training and community service through participation in local clubs, enabling members to make a difference in the lives of others.

Present In Nature

The show runs Sept 14 to Oct 30, with an opening reception on Friday, Sept 25, 5:30pm - 7:30pm. This event is free and open to the public.

Additionally, each artist in the show is donating a piece to the Land Trust for a silent auction to be held on Sunday, Sept 13 from 5-7pm, also at the Johnson Education Center. The silent auction is part of an event celebrating the D&R Greenway's 20th Anniversary. Tickets to this event are $100/person, RSVP to the Land Trust by Sept 8 if you wish to attend, they can be reached at 609-924-4646.

Please note: a bridge is being replaced on Rosedale Road and you cannot reach the Johnson Education Center by driving east on Rosedale from Carter Rd. You must take Rosedale west from Elm Road / Great Road.

Artists Gallery at Pinot to Picasso 2009

Artists' Gallery is well represented at this year's Pinot to Picasso - the Arts Council of Princeton's annual art and wine tasting fund raiser. This gala kick-off to the Princeton Arts Weekend and Communiversity Festival of the Arts has been described as "the liveliest and hippest art related event in Princeton" - so how can you miss that?!

The event takes place on Friday evening, April 24 and includes an exciting selection of foods donated by select local restaurants, and a tasting of wines from around the world. Also included are a wine-related Silent Auction, and a “Wine Grab.” But the highlight of the evening is the Art Tombola, a raffle of approximately 80 works of art contributed by a select group of local artists. Hidden Gardens Revealed 2

It's hard to keep a secret hidden in Lambertville, especially when each year in June the Kalmia Club lays open to view the horticultural wonders of selected private gardens during the "Hidden Gardens of Lambertville" tour. Along with tour-goers, this rare opportunity was taken advantage of by a dozen well-recognized, highly skilled, professional artists from the Artists' Gallery who settled into the garden sites to paint "plein air" for the tour day.

Besides the beautiful paintings that resulted, the Artists' Gallery artists created quite a buzz of interest and spirited conversation among tour-goers. "They added a wonderful compliment to our event." said Fran Bardusco, Garden Tour Chairwoman, "and now these beautiful paintings are going to be offered for sale with half of the proceeds being donated to the Kalmia Club to help benefit our community efforts."

"This is the second year that we have had the privilege to paint for the Kalmia Club," said Stacy Rogers, President of the Artists' Gallery cooperative, "last years benefit exhibition and sale was a great success". The "Hidden Gardens Revealed 2" exhibition and sale is for one weekend only starting with an opening reception for the donors, patrons, friends and members of the Kalmia Club on Friday, October 17th from 6:00 to 9:00 pm. Then the gallery doors will be open to the public Saturday and Sunday from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm.

The Artists' Gallery is an artist run cooperative. "Unlike most privately owned galleries, the Artists' Gallery members can mobilize to help good causes and organizations by doing what we do best - create," said gallery member Gail Bracegirdle.

Artists Gallery donations to the Arts Council of Princeton

Artists' Gallery artists Jennifer Cadoff, Joe Kazimierczyk, Alan Klawans and John Treichler are donating artwork to the Arts Council of Princeton's annual fund raiser "Pinot to Picasso", a spectacular evening of art, wine, and community celebrating the Arts Council of Princeton's Anne Reeves Studio.

Chuck's birdhouse must be seen in person to be appreciated. It has an entry from each side, leading into separate chambers within the tree trunk. And from a side view, it looks a bit too anatomically correct to post the photo here, so go see it in person!

Hunterdon Land Trust Alliance Paint Out

Joe Kazimierczyk will be participating in a paint out organized by the Hunterdon Land Trust Alliance on Sunday, Sept 23 at the Dvoor Farm on the Rt 12 circle just outside of Flemington, NJ.

The paint out is just one of many activities planned for "A Day On The Farm", so if watching someone paint isn't your idea of fun, come out anyway - there's plenty more to do with live music and good food - visit www.htla.org for a complete list of activities. It's free of charge and everyone is welcome to attend.

All paintings from this paint out will be auctioned off at a Fall Gala at The Hunterdon Museum of Art in Clinton, NJ on October 20, 2007, and the proceeds will benefit the Hunterdon Land Trust Alliance.
